Soup Recipes

These soup recipes are a great way to introduce vegetarian fare to a non-vegetarian diet. Of course, they are a great addition to any meal regardless of what your dietary preference is. First timers may be surprised as to how hearty and filling these soups are. In many cases, such as those based on beans or lentils, these soups are packed with protein and dietary fiber.

Let's start with one of my favorites of these soup recipes: split pea soup
I find that preparing soup can take a little more finesse than some other types of cooking. The precise mix of ingredients, the cooking time, and the amount of water to add are just a few of the many factors that contribute to the outcome of your soup.

The first time that you go through these recipes you should probably stick close to the ingredients and preparation, however as you become more experienced I encourage you to tweak these based on your taste.

Delicious Red Lentil Soup.

As you add your own vegetables, herbs and spices you will begin to create your own special concoctions, that will not be easily replicated by others. It will take a little bit of trial and error, but the results will be something that you not only love to eat but is truly your own creation.

Try this hearty black bean soup

...Or a simple vegetable soup

Although the preparation can take some practice, these soups are great in the simplicity of the ingredients themselves. You have a great opportunity here to incorporate whole, organic foods into a taste concoction of your own.
