Vegan Lifestyle, How to Live a More Compassionate Life
As an extension of a vegan diet, the vegan lifestyle aims to eliminate the use of any animal products in your daily life. This is where things may start to get tricky, as the use of animals for human benefit is so prevalent throughout modern culture. If you decide that compassion is one of your core values, then you may seek to look beyond the food you eat to the clothes you wear, the convenience items you use, the entertainment that you seek, etc...
It could be argued that any animal in captivity, whether actually being slaughtered/killed or not, is an unnatural state of life for the animal, and an abuse of our power as humans. Therefore, at one end of the ethical gradient would be the belief in complete 'animal liberation'... No animals used for medical research, no animals kept in zoos, not even animals bred as pets or human companions.
As I have stated earlier, I believe that beliefs are ultimately something that a person must decide and shape for themselves, and morals and ethics are never 'all or nothing'. A more commonly held , and seemingly 'less-extreme', standard is the non-use of leather, silk, and wool in clothing.
Take a first 'step' towards a vegan lifestyle in your brand new vegan shoes. (haha, get it?)
I'll admit it. I really do not have any friends who live the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, so starting this site is really my first opportunity to share my passion with others. It's not that I am opposed to the idea, it's just that I have not met many others 'like me' in my daily life. My guess is that it might have something to do with the 'unlikeliness' of my lifestyle change, given my previous personality and those whom I had grown accustomed to associating with. I also do not judge or condemn those who do not share my values, rather I just try to demonstrate through my actions.
Are alcoholic beverages conducive to a vegan lifestyle?
If associating with others that live a compassionate life is something that is important to you, then I cannot blame you either. After all, there is something to be said about great minds thinking alike! Fortunately, there are outlets available for you to reach out to like-minded people.
Let's talk about vegetarian dating.
